Paula Patton

Paula Patton is the daughter of Joyce (Vanraden) Patton and Charles Patton. Her father is African-American , and her mother is caucasian is of German, English, and Dutch ancestry. Her family lived just next to the 20th Century Fox lot as she grew up, and she was a big enthusiast of films from her very early years. Her mother, also appreciated good films, was a schoolteacher, and her father was a lawyer. Paula admitted that she tried to escape when she was young girls by "pretending" to appear to be someone different from herself. Therefore, it's no surprise that she was a part of Hamilton Magnet Arts High School productions. Her most beloved role was one of Abigail in "The Crucible". She pursued her studies at the University of Southern California, where she completed a summer course in film. The program was a success, and she was given a three-month project to create documentaries for PBS. This led to her working as a production assistant for television documentaries, as well as on Howie Mandel's talk show. Her career progressed to producing documentary segments for Medical Diaries (2000) airing on Discovery Health Channel. Paula claims she enjoys her work, but she is still aspiring to be a performer. Her career was nearly instant success with her roles, including major ones in Hitch (2005), Idlewild (2006) and Idlewild (2006), and also the lead female role in Deja Vu (2006) opposite Denzel.
